This week, Barneys’ Simon Doonan kicks off his book tour for his latest tome, “geared towards anyone mesmerized by fabulosity”: Gay Men Don’t Get Fat. Don’t, however, be misguided by the name: Gay men do eat crumble and “gay men do get fat,” Doonan, now on his fifth book, tells Style.com. “They are called ‘bears’ and I have a whole chapter about them in there.”Also in the book: chapters about hokey hookers, Ke$ha and the prissy queens, why macarons are so gay, and the most important word in the history of style. Doonan says these chapters came to him when he got an impulse to share the gay wisdom with the world. “To liberate everybody, women especially, and show them how to live life with the stylish bravado of us homos. Being a girl has never been more complicated—women are expected to look like Gisele, work like Bill Gates, and have a million kids like the old woman in the shoe,” says Doonan. So, what’s his secret to life? Never feel bad, about eating macarons or anything else.“Don’t feel guilty about buying millions of pairs of Louboutins,” says Doonan. “Just shut up and buy them.”In between his life coach advice, Doonan also offered up his thoughts on red-carpet dressing for awards season. “I have basically lost interest in awards,” he says. “Watching perfectly groomed people clutching awards has lost any fascination, but I will get interested again when someone shows up in something interesting—they are all gun-shy now.” Fodder for his next book? Perhaps. Doonan wants to let his latest one marinate for a bit before he’s ready to go forth.—Kristin Studeman

Thank you, Kris Van Assche. Dior Homme is doing denim for the ladies. He’s added a bit of stretch to the skinny silhouette we love on our moody, broody, floppy-haired gents and is providing an array of serious, angst-ridden shades. Pairs will range from $407 to $1,185 and could be in stores as early as next month. Start perfecting your slouch now. [WWD]

Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone’s house hunt comes to an end. $10.4 million later, they’ve found the perfect “white box,” complete with a private elevator, back terrace, yard, and roof deck in the West Village. [Page Six]Congratulations, New Yorkers! You are paying the highest rents of anyone in the world. And unless you’re Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone, we doubt that rent comes with an elevator, back terrace, yard, and roof deck. [Crain’s]

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown must not spend much time reading important U.K. publications like the Sun and Daily Mail, otherwise he would have avoided his gaffe yesterday when he mistook petite, blond Reese Witherspoon for petite, blond Renée Zellweger. Awkward! Someone needs to get his morning paper routine sorted out. [HuffPo]

Lily Allen is quitting music for fashion, at least temporarily. The singer has declared a self-imposed two-year break from the biz to open Lucy in Disguise, a high-end rental shop specializing in designer wares. We’ll admit, we’re intrigued. [Grazia]—Alison Baenen

Whilst Cheryl Cole was going for the shock factor on Saturday’s X Factor show, Dannii Minogue’s look was more refined.

The judge who is mentoring the girls opted for another J’Aton Couture gown which was just a breath-taking as her gown last week.

Her asymmetrical one-sleeved glittering gown which was accented with a black thin belt, had a delicate lace bodice.

I loved her wavy updo and her soft make-up.

Black platform heels completed her look.

Her second look was a bold shouldered LBD by J’Aton Couture paired with a steel waistband and gold YSL peep-toes.

This look was less dramatic than previous looks but she still looked gorgeous, even with the slightly crimped hair.

In order to still show her respect for the poppy appeal, she wore her poppy as a bracelet.

It has been reported that Simon Cowell is unhappy about the Cheryl and Dannii stealing all the spotlight with their fashion choices.

Apparently he told the girl’s that it was a talent show and not a fashion show. I would say he should concentrate on remembering the contestants names.

Rome Film Festival Weekend Catch Up

By admin | Filed in fashion

“Viola Di Mare” Premiere

Maria Grazia Cucinotta was by far my favourite on the red carpet this weekend.

The stunning actress looked divine wearing an Armani Privé spiral gown which was embroidered with Swarovski crystals.

This gown is very similar to the Privé gown Sharon Stone wore recently.

Isabella Ragonese wore a beautiful dress with an unmistakable Missoni floral print from the Fall 2008 collection.

The grey and blue print dress had ruffled shoulders and an embellished detail cascading down one  side.

We don’t often get so see Roberta Armani on the red carpet, but she doesn’t disappoint wearing a Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 two-tone black on gold bustier dress.

Her brunette locks were swept to one-side, as she paired her dress with Armani accessories.

“Viola Di Mare” Photocall

I loved Isabella Ragonese’s Missoni dress, but I wasn’t crazy about her Isabel Marant Fall 2009 look.

I much prefer the runway colour combination.

“Up In The Air” Premiere

I wasn’t a fan of Elisabetta Canalis last red carpet look, but she does a complete 180 by looking spectacular wearing an Armani Privé Fall 2009 midnight blue strapless velvet gown, with a lighter blue satin bodice.

She opted to wear her sash around her neck rather than tying it into a cute bow as the look was presented on the runway.

George Clooney was decked out in Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

“The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus”

Lily Cole opted for a very familiar Dolce & Gabbana black corset gown, which looks amazing on her.

Despite seeing this gown many times in various colours, I’m not bored seeing it on Lily.

Rose McGowan toned down the sex kitten for a demure look despite the bright fuchsia colour of her Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Normally her looks are shorter, tighter and more revealing.

“The Last Station” Premiere

Helen Mirren was perfection personified – as always – wowing the crowds wearing a sleeveless gown with a large bow and diamond brooch detail.

She was easily my second favourite from this weekends looks.

Runway To “Skavlan” – Rihanna In Paule Ka & Elie Saab

By admin | Filed in fashion

Only Rihanna comes close to rivaling Victoria Beckham’s airmiles.

After Rihanna’s appearance on Oprah this week, last night she was in Norway to make a guest appearance on the “Skavlan” talk show hosted by Fredrik Skavlan.

I’m fascinated by what she’s wearing.

It’s another complicated look which is a little busy, yet it’s so interesting.

The singer wore a Paule Ka Spring 2009 strapless dress with a feathered skirt, paired with an embellished Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture shrug.

I’m sure many of you may think the shrug wasn’t necessary, but I love the contrasting textures.

Rhianna’s next stop will be London, where she due to get involved with George Clooney’s Hope for Haiti telethon today.

I hope she picks up some interesting looks from our up-and-coming designers whilst in town.

You may remember actress Jana Pallaske wore this same dress to the Inglourious Basterds Cannes premiere last year.

2010 SAG Awards – Marion Cotillard In Elie Saab Couture

By admin | Filed in fashion

Thank God It’s Not Dior Award
As much as I love Dior and Marion Cotillard in Dior, I was thankful she opted for another designer tonight.

Last week several people picked the exact dress she was going to wear at the Globes, which just highlighted the fact that she was becoming too predictable.

I LOVED her in this Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture draped one shoulder white mini dress.

I adore the embellishment plus the floral appliqué detail at the hem of the dress.

Her dress was paired with the runway heels and Chopard jewels.

Emma Watson For Burberry Spring 2010

By admin | Filed in fashion

Emma Watson reprised her role as the face of Burberry for their Spring 2010 ad campaign, which was shot by Mario Testino.

She looks fabulous wearing a selection of pieces, with the focus seemingly on the sexy new trench coats as well as the classics trenches.

Emma appears in the campaign alongside her younger brother 17 year old Alex Watson.

I love this campaign. I think Emma is the perfect brand ambassador for the younger crowd that Burberry appear to be aiming this campaign towards.

I LOVE the twisted pieces.

The only criticism I have is that the styling feels much the same as the Fall 2009 campaign.

I’m not quite sure when things started to go drastically wrong for Keri Hilson, but she continues to slide on the red carpet.

At the “Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris” in LA last night the golden girl wasn’t shining so brightly.

It appears the singer bathe in gold from the shimmering powder caked all over her body.

I wasn’t particularly keen on her gold chainmail dress with the asymmetrical neckline and hemline, nor was I keen on her black strapless bra which is visible under her dress.

Hopefully girlfriend can do a 180 before the main event tonight.

Olivia Wilde was my Best Dressed of all those who attended the Oscar after parties.

The stunning actress wore a buttery yellow RM by Roland Mouret “Hydra” gown.

The organza ruffle front gown was a beautiful colour on her, which she paired with a maroon clutch and matching Ferragamo satin heels.

Bold red lips and loose waves completed the look.

Roland Mouret also dressed Anna Paquin for the 2010 Vanity Fair Party.

Anna has been taking a lot of risks lately wearing Viktor & Rolf, Alexander McQueen and Marios Schwab, so her black RM by Roland Mouret “Latona” dress feels a bit tame in comparison to her riskier ensembles.

She would’ve totally rocked the orange version and I’m really surprised that on her current form she didn’t go for it.

The actress paired her dress with a Maia N python box clutch and a House of Lavande vintage seven strand gold ball necklace.
